The moment a group of men attempted to kidnap another man at a petrol station in Sydney’s north west has been caught on camera, prompting a police appeal.

In CCTV of the July 2022 incident, which was released by police and can be seen in the video above, a white Mitsubishi Pajero pulls into a petrol station on Windsor Rd at Vineyard.

The vehicle then comes to a stop near parked cars before three men, two of whom appear to be armed with stick-like weapons, exit the vehicle.

The group is then seen approaching another man, who can be seen running from the mystery trio before he falls over.

In the vision, one of the unknown men is briefly seen scuffling with the man as he’s on the ground.

Police were told the group was attempting to force the man into the car.

He was able to flee the group, police said, and was uninjured.
