The Suzuki Jimny could already be dressed up to look like a Ford Bronco or Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen, but now new body kits can make it look like iconic 1980s rallying legends.

Japanese tuner DAMD has revealed two new body kits for the Suzuki Jimny ahead of debuting them in person at the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon, which runs from January 12-14.

The theme for the Japanese tuner’s Jimny body kits is “European masterpiece”. DAMD also collaborated with OZ Racing to recreate a version of the classic white rally racing wheel for the Jimny, which feature with both new body kits.

The first body kit is called the Little 5 and is clearly based on the Renault 5 Turbo. At the front there are rectangular headlights that are reminiscent of the French hot hatch, as well as a rectangular grille and amber fog lights.

Around the side there are painted wheel arch extenders, as well as a comical “Non Turbo” decal which pays homage to the “Turbo” decal on the actual French hot hatch.

The second body kit is called the Little Δ, which is a tongue-in-check reference to the first-generation Lancia Delta hot hatch. This body kit in particular draws inspiration from the high-performance Delta Integrale.

Unlike the Little 5 body kit, this one receives four circular headlights, as well as yellow fog lights, a split rectangular grille, a racing stripe down the middle of the car, and a prominent rear wing. There also appear to be bucket seats inside the kitted-out Jimny.

Although both of these Suzuki Jimnys look like 1980s European hot hatches, there haven’t been any powertrain modifications.

This means these cars are still powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine. In Australia this engine produces 75kW of power and 130Nm of torque.

These latest body kits from DAMD join its existing range that can transform the Jimny into the likes of a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen, classic Ford Bronco, and a classic Land Rover Defender.
