A teenage boy was found on the road with stab wounds in Brisbane’s south after a street disturbance.

Numerous people were found gathered in the street in Runcorn when Queensland Police arrived to provide first aid to the young victim on Saturday night.

Police declared two crime scenes on Kalanda St, one in the front yard of a house, and the other on the street where the boy was discovered just after 11.20pm

“Several police crews, along with the dog squad and the police helicopter, gained control of the scene,” police said.

The 14-year-old boy had sustained a stab wound to his abdomen and was taken to hospital in the company of police.

Five people were taken into custody and are assisting police with an ongoing investigation.

“Police do not believe there is an ongoing danger to the general public,” Queensland Police said.
